Safety first
Do not disassemble plumbing under the sink. If water is leaking into the cabinet, submit a request.

Step-by-step instructions

Wearing gloves, remove visible food, grease, or hair from the drain opening.

For a bathroom sink, lift out and clean the pop-up stopper.

Run hot tap water to test the drain.
- 4
Cover the overflow opening and use a small sink plunger with firm strokes.
- 5
If the sink still backs up or leaks into the cabinet, submit a request. Do not take apart the plumbing.
