Smelly Sink
Odors at a sink are usually caused by residue in the drain, the overflow opening, or a garbage disposal.
Step-by-step instructions
- 1
Run hot water for 10–15 seconds to flush the drain.
- 2
Clean around the drain opening and, if present, the overflow hole.
- 3
Pour in a little baking soda followed by warm water to freshen the drain.
- 4
If it is a kitchen sink, run the disposal with cold water and a citrus peel.
- 5
If the odor keeps returning, submit a maintenance request.
