Test a Smoke Detector
Detectors should be tested regularly using the test button on the device.
Step-by-step instructions

Press and hold the Test button on the detector until it sounds.

If the alarm is weak or silent, replace the battery and test again.

Test each detector in the home the same way.
- 4
Never disable or remove a detector.
- 5
If a detector will not sound with a fresh battery, submit a request.
